Malfunction Junction - the great NYC cross walk malfunction of 2010. It appears to have grown to epidemic proportions...odd that these items were set to break after only 7 yrs...even odder that there doesn't to seem to have been a plan to replace them before they started breaking. The red hand will symbolize the blood on the hands of the bureaucrat who took the contract kickback that is going to get some pedestrian killed...actually I think they both only show on walk...so perhaps all it may really do is keep confused tourists blocking up the sidewalks.
